The difference from digital printing is that when a digital image is made, it must be burned onto an aluminum plate. Just imagine a printer about 50 times the size of your printer at home. Instead of inserting sheets of paper, you insert aluminum sheets. Then it is burned with a laser and then washed off with a special chemical. The plate is then mounted on the press.
